Armitage implemented Internet of Things (IoT) Solution for MOL Logistics

The rising maturity of Internet of Thing (IoT) technology has popularized in different industries, including retails, property management, manufacturing and logistics.  The latest AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) combines AI and IoT technologies, improves automation, intelligence and reliability, and provides better solutions for enterprises.

Warehouse management is gradually becoming more intelligent, with systems that can help manage product flows within the warehouse, stock and inventory, returned goods, as well as monitor the temperature and humidity in warehouses and to prevent fire. Armitage Technologies has recently implemented an Internet of Things (IoT) system for warehouse of MOL Logistics, a Hong Kong based logistics company owned by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Group.

Based on the net profit and market value, MOL Group is the largest shipping company in Japan. Apart from shipping huge volume of goods around the world, the company also provides storage and distribution services.  For those high-performance electronic products, warehouse of MOL Logistics possesses high precision environmental monitoring to ensure that they are stored under quality conditions.  We have installed a network of temperature and humidity monitoring sensors in client’s warehouses that can provide real-time monitoring through wireless network. Data are sent by narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) and stored on the cloud, making it easy to retrieve anytime for analysis and comparison. When the warehouse temperature or humidity is higher or lower than pre-set thresholds, the system will send alert through email or instant messaging which can help client avoid monetary loss due to damaged goods, whereas the automation can also help to save manpower, greatly solving the problem of labour shortage in the logistics industry.

Armitage is committed to developing IoT solutions to enhance the development potential of logistics and warehouse management industry.  By collecting and storing business data to a certain amount, comparative analysis can make speculations and set preventive measures, and finally turns into business insights.
