Providing AI Edge Computing Solution to WSD: Enhancement of Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) System

Armitage is entrusted to provide Water Supplies Department (“WSD)’s Unmanned Surface Vessel (“USV”) system with AI edge computing solution for efficiency enhancement of water quality monitoring and sampling at impounding reservoirs.

We will be working on the following 3 areas:

  • Intelligent route planning

Provide edge computing with AI that automatically pre-build the route of each USV with a view to optimizing the sailing time and battery consumption.

  • Intelligent water quality monitoring and sampling

Enable USV’s detection of abnormity in water quality based on the real-time water quality monitoring data.

  • Capacity enhancement in data analysis

Enable rapid automatic generation of visual data profile with alert signals based on real-time water quality monitoring data.

About WSD’s Unmanned Surface Vessel

To advance water quality monitoring, the WSD has introduced the unmanned surface vessel (USV) system in recent years to perform automatic water quality monitoring and sampling in impounding reservoirs, boosting emergency responsiveness and operational efficiency through the adoption of innovation and technology.
