Spring Blessings Initiative 2024|Armitage’s Voluntary Team Visit to Elder Nursing Home

On 24 February, Lantern Festival, Armitage’s Voluntary Team gave a visit to nursing home in Fanling to express love and care to the elderly.

15 Volunteers from different background including 12 adults, 2 students, and a 5-year-old child came together to bring joy and warmth to the elderly. During this visit, the volunteer team engaged in various interactive activities, including dancing, brain teasers games, singing performances, and presenting heartfelt gifts.

Armitage’s voluntary team performed singing as a way of conveying the blessing to the elderly.  Our greatest encouragement was the smile and applause of the elderly as the felt comforted by our songs.

Additionally, Armitage’s voluntary team prepared thoughtful gifts for the elderly friends. It included healthy biscuits, storage bags, and hand warmers. Additionally, some handmade ornaments and fabric wallets were crafted by the volunteers, specifically designed to hold medical cards, identification documents, and senior citizen cards, symbolizing our heartfelt blessings of love. These gifts were not only practical but also represented our care for the seniors. During the distribution of these gifts, we witnessed the joy on the faces of the elderly, which deeply touched us.

Our involvement in this activity not only strengthened our bonds within the Armitage’s voluntary team, but also made us aware of the importance of social responsibility.
